For the second time, I was commissioned by Pierre Huetter from Aleseva to illustrate and design a new deck of playing cards. This time is The New World, a deck that tells the story of how America should have been called Columbia, had it not been for the first 'world map' published in 1507. Even though America was discovered for Europeans by Christopher Columbus, it was named after another explorer named Amerigo Vespucci, because the first world map used Vespucci's name instead of Columbus' name. The Universalis Cosmographia was created in 1507 by German cartographer Martin Waldseemüller.

We launched this deck on Kickstarter back in 2021 and it was shortly funded by 111%. A massive thank you to all the backers!
